About the app

Almost American is an educational app and website for practicing the U.S. naturalization civics test (USCIS, Form N-400). Almost American is operated by Scarpa Re Investments LLC (Florida, USA), c/o Northwest Registered Agent LLC, 7901 4th St N STE 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, USA.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or any other U.S. government agency. Government names, forms, and public-domain study materials are referenced here only to identify the test we help you study for.

Not legal advice — and what we are not

This is the most important section on this page, so it is written plainly.

Almost American is a study tool. It is not a law firm and not a legal service. Specifically:

Only a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ/EOIR-accredited representative may advise you on your case. You can find authorized help at justice.gov/eoir, and USCIS explains how to avoid immigration scams at uscis.gov/avoid-scams. If anyone ever tells you that Almost American can file your paperwork or influence your case, that person is lying to you.

Who can use this

You must be at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to accept these terms (or a parent or guardian’s consent) to use the app or the website.

Premium subscription

The Premium plan (Monthly, Annual, or Lifetime) is purchased through the App Store or Google Play. Monthly and Annual plans automatically renew at the same price at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple or Google account’s subscription settings — renewal is charged within that final 24-hour window. Canceling stops future charges but does not refund the period already paid, per the store’s own policies. The Lifetime plan is a single one-time purchase that never renews and never expires. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us.

Fair use of the AI Simulated Interview

The AI Simulated Interview relies on a third-party artificial intelligence service that costs money per use. For that reason, even on Premium plans, this feature is subject to a daily personal-use limit, set well above what any real preparation requires. We may limit, suspend, or end access to this specific feature in cases of automated use, resale, account sharing, or any use that is not your own personal study. The rest of the app is not subject to this limit.

The AI in this app plays the role of an interviewer for practice purposes. It is software, it can be wrong, and it has no connection to any real USCIS officer, interview, or decision.

Waitlist emails

If you enter your email address on this website, you are asking us to email you when the app launches. That is the only thing we will use it for. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to support@almostamerican.app. We do not sell, rent, or share email addresses.

Official test content and dates

The 128 civics questions and answers are published by USCIS (Form M-1778) and are in the public domain. Some official answers change with elections and appointments, and the test itself can change. We work to keep the content current, but the official source always wins: verify at uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates. Any date calculator or timeline on this site is an arithmetic convenience, not a determination of your eligibility.

Acceptable use

You agree not to copy, redistribute, or resell the app’s content, and to use it only for personal study purposes. The app’s branding, design, illustrations, and original explanations belong to us; the official USCIS questions are public domain; historical photographs are used under public-domain or CC0 terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app and website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for decisions made based on this content, including the outcome of any interview, application, or naturalization proceeding, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from third-party claims arising from your misuse of the app or website, or your violation of these terms.

Termination

We may suspend or end your access if you violate these terms. You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time.

If you downloaded from the App Store (Apple-required terms)

These terms are an agreement between you and Scarpa Re Investments LLC only — not with Apple. Apple is not a party to them and has no responsibility for the app or its content. Your license is personal, non-transferable, and limited to using the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service. Maintenance and support are solely our responsibility: Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish them. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any — beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, consumer protection, privacy, or regulatory compliance claims, and for the investigation and defense of any third-party intellectual property claim. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and are not on any U.S. government prohibited-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them directly against you. Questions, complaints, or support: support@almostamerican.app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Florida, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we will update this page and the in-app copy, and revise the date above.
